Dhaka, Aug. 25 -- The Bangladesh government is moving ahead with its plans to acquire Chinese-made J-10CE multirole fighter jets as part of a broader effort to modernise the Bangladesh Air Force, according to Prime Minister's Information and Broadcasting Adviser Zahed Ur Rahman.

Speaking at a press conference at the Secretariat on Tuesday, Zahed said the government was pursuing the procurement of several types of fourth-generation multirole combat aircraft (MRCA), along with attack helicopters, VIP helicopters and UAV systems. The purchases will be implemented in the current fiscal year if funding is available, or carried over into the next budget.
