Bengaluru, Nov. 4 -- Former Karnataka minister and Bagalakote MLA HY Meti, who had been suffering from health complications, passed away at the age of 80. He was admitted recently to Apollo Hospital in Bengaluru due to respiratory issues.
However, despite treatment, he passed away at around 11:45 am. Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah had visited him in the hospital a couple of days ago to inquire about his health.
Meti was elected to the Legislative Assembly from the Bagalkote constituency in the 2023 elections, defeating BJP candidate Veeranna Charantimath. He had lost the previous election in 2018.
