Changzhou, July 23 -- PV Sindhu bowed out of the China Open 2026 badminton tournament after suffering a hard-fought defeat to home favourite Chen Yufei in the women's singles round of 16 here in the People's Republic of China, on Thursday.
Later in the day, defeats for Lakshya Sen and Ayush Shetty in their respective men's singles second round matches ended India's campaign at the BWF Super 1000 tournament.
World No. Sindhu lost 16-21, 22-20, 21-18 to Chen Yufei, fourth in the badminton rankings, after the Chinese shuttler staged a comeback to reach the quarter-finals.
