Sydney, June 8 -- Olympic medallist PV Sindhu will headline a band of 24 Indian shuttlers, including HS Prannoy and the upcoming Ayush Shetty at the Australian Badminton Open 2026 starting from Tuesday.
Lakshya Sen, however, will not be defending the BWF Super 500 men's singles title he won last year.
Kidambi Srikanth, a former champion from 2017, will also be sitting this edition out.
Sindhu will lead a sizeable contingent of eight in the women's singles draw at the Quaycentre, Olympic Boulevard, in Sydney.
Malvika Bansod, Anmol Kharb, Tanvi Sharma, Isharani Baruah, Aakarshi Kashyap and Tanya Hemnath are also in the main draw while Imad Farooqui Samiya starts from the qualifiers, according to olympics.com.
