Asan (South Korea), Aug. 4 -- India's men's doubles pair of Pruthvi Krishnamurthy Roy and Krishna Prasad Garaga stunned fourth seeds Worrapol Thongsa-nga and Chaloempon Charoenkitamorn of Thailand in the first round of the Korea Masters 2026 badminton on Tuesday.
Ranked world No. 118, Roy and Garaga pulled off a 21-16, 21-18 win over the 48th-ranked Thai duo in 42 minutes to advance to the second round of the BWF Super 300 badminton tournament here, according to olympics.com.
The Indian badminton players recovered from a 12-10 deficit in the opening game, winning 11 of the next 15 points to seize control.
The second game was more closely fought as the Thai pair overturned a four-point deficit to lead 18-16.
