Hyderabad, Sept. 6 -- The 69-foot Bada Khairatabad Ganesh idol was immersed in Hussain Sagar, this afternoon amidst religious fervor.
The procession of iconic Khairatabad Ganesh idol, which moved from the installation site at 7.44 am, was carried along the 2.5 km route uptill Hussain Sagar lake in the heart of Hyderabad, where the immersion took place around 1.30 pm at Bahubali crane point No.4.
A sea of devotees participated in the procession to catch a glimpse of the idol before it was immersed.
Passing off of the immersion ritual peacefully brought much needed relief to the organizers and the police who started making arrangements since last night.
