Ranchi, Feb. 25 -- Former Jharkhand Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition Babulal Marandi on Wednesday strongly criticised the state government's excise policy, alleging large-scale corruption and irregularities in its implementation.

He claimed that since the introduction of the new excise policy in 2022, instances of overcharging and alleged coercive practices at liquor outlets had increased, placing an additional burden on consumers.

Marandi alleged that despite repeated concerns raised by the media and opposition leaders, the government failed to take timely action.
