Azamgarh, March 24 -- A district court in Azamgarh, Uttar Pradesh, has delivered its verdict in a sensational 24-year-old murder case, sentencing three convicts to life imprisonment along with a hefty fine.
The judgment was pronounced on Tuesday by District and Sessions Judge Jay Prakash Pandey, who found Imtiaz, Alisher, and Nadeem guilty in the murder of Soharab, a resident of Bairidih village under Devgaon police station limits.
According to prosecution officials, Soharab was shot dead on November 19, 2002, near Neelkanth Hotel, close to the Azamgarh collectorate, where he frequently stayed while attending court proceedings.
