Rampur, May 23 -- In a major setback for Samajwadi Party leader Mohammad Azam Khan, the MP-MLA Sessions Court has increased the punishment and fine on him in connection with the two PAN cards case.

The MP-MLA Session Court increased the earlier sentence of seven years to 10 years for Azam Khan. While, the fine of Rs 50,000 has been increased to Rs five lakh.

Whereas, while maintaining the sentence of seven years for his son Abdullah Azam, only the fine amount has been increased. His fine amount has been increased from Rs 50,000 to Rs 3.5 lakh.

In November 17, 2025, the Magistrate Court sentenced both Azam Khan and Abdullah Azam to seven years in prison and a fine of Rs 50,000 each in this case.
