Dhaka, Nov. 17 -- The Bangladesh Awami League (AL), currently banned by the Muhammad Yunus-led interim government, has strongly rejected the death sentence issued against its president and former PM Sheikh Hasina by the country's International Crimes Tribunal (ICT).
The verdict, delivered on Monday, has triggered immediate condemnation from the party, which announced a full-day nationwide shutdown for November 18, demanding the interim administration's resignation.
