Bareilly, Nov. 22 -- Authorities on Saturday demolished a two-storey illegal commercial complex belonging to Arif, a close aide of Maulana Tauqeer, the main accused in the Bareilly violence case.

The Bareilly Development Authority (BDA) carried out the demolition, stating that the structure had been constructed without an approved map or permission. The complex had earlier been sealed on October 11 after officials confirmed unauthorized construction.

Following the September 26 violence in Bareilly, main accused Maulana Tauqeer had reportedly taken shelter at Faik Enclave on Pilibhit Bypass Road.
