Prayagraj, Aug. 7 -- The Allahabad High Court Friday approved the parole applications of slain gangster-turned-politician Atiq Ahmed's sons Mohammad Umar and Ali Ahmed to attend the funeral of their younger brother, Aban, who died in a road accident.
The single bench of Justice Ajay Bhanot accepted the parole this afternoon.
Aban was killed on Thursday morning in a road accident on the Jhansi-Kanpur National Highway in Uttar Pradesh. He was on his way to meet his elder brother, who was lodged in a Jhansi jail.
The burial of Aban is expected to be held tomorrow near the grave of his father, Atiq Ahmed. Umar is lodged in Lucknow jail while his brother is in Jhansi jail. Atiq's wife, Shaista Praveen, has been absconding since 2023 after the...
