Belagavi, Dec. 19 -- The Karnataka Legislative Assembly on Friday passed a series of resolutions aimed at promoting development in North Karnataka and supporting farmers.
The resolutions, proposed by Law and Parliamentary Affairs Minister HK Patil, were adopted unanimously.
The Assembly urged the union Government to establish an All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Raichur, fulfilling a long-standing demand of the Kalyana Karnataka region, and to relocate 73 centrally-funded institutions, including 25 major research centres, from Bengaluru-Mysuru to North and Kalyana Karnataka.
