Shillong, June 19 -- Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Friday said that the second round of boundary talks with Meghalaya would be held only after the first six areas are clearly demarcated amicably.
Sarma said that the Survey of India is doing the demarcation in the six areas where an MoU has been signed between the two states resolving their border dispute, in six of the 12 areas of differences in the presence of union Home Minister Amit Shah in March 2022.
In the first phase, six areas were resolved and an MoU signed to put at rest the differences in these areas. The six areas were Tarabari, Gizang, Hahim, Boklapara, Khanapara-Pillangkata and Ratacheera.
