Nagoya (Japan), Sept. 27 -- China's Wang Zhiyi and Chen Yufei advanced to the women's singles semifinals at the 2026 Asian Games on Sunday, while both of China's mixed doubles pairs also secured semifinal berths.
World No. 2 Wang eased past Chinese Taipei's Lin Hsiang-Ti 21-7, 21-12 in the quarterfinals, while Chen came from a game down to beat India's Pusarla V. Sindhu 11-21, 21-18, 21-10.
"Winning the team title gave me a big boost in confidence going into the individual event," Wang said.
She added that her goal was to challenge for the individual title but that she would focus on preparing for each match and fighting for every point.
