Nagoya (Japan), Sept. 27 -- Wang Manyu beat compatriot Sun Yingsha 4-2 in an all-Chinese final to win the table tennis women's singles gold at the 2026 Asian Games on Sunday, while China's Huang Youzheng and Lin Shidong defeated Japan's Tomokazu Harimoto and Hiroto Shinozuka 4-2 to claim the men's doubles title.
In a meeting between the world's top two women's singles players, Wang took two closely contested opening games 11-8, 11-9. Sun responded by winning the third 13-11, but Wang rallied from four points down to take the fourth 11-9 and move within one game of the title.
Sun stayed in contention with an 11-4 win in the fifth before Wang closed out the match by takinga hard-fought sixth game 15-13.
