New Delhi, Sept. 29 -- Neeru Dhanda arrived at the Asian Games as a medal contender. She left as a history-maker. The 26-year-old Indian Army shooter produced a near-flawless performance in the women's trap final on Tuesday, winning gold with a Games-record 28/30 and becoming the first Indian woman to win an individual shotgun medal at the continental showpiece.
It was also India's first individual gold at Aichi-Nagoya, bringing an end to a wait that had begun to weigh on the country's shooting contingent.
