Bengaluru, Feb. 9 -- Senior BJP leader and LoP R Ashoka on Monday challenged the state government to formally write to the Central Government seeking a rollback of the Bengaluru Metro fare hike, warning that failure to do so would amount to mere propaganda.
Speaking to reporters, Ashoka said, "If the Chief Minister says, 'We did not hike the price,' then he must write a letter to the Centre asking for a reduction in metro fares. He must do this. Otherwise, it is just propaganda."Blaming the state government for the fare increase, Ashoka said the administration was "pauper now" and struggling even to pay salaries. "That is why they are implementing this hike. The public sees through the propaganda and feels the burden," he added.
