Bengaluru, May 21 -- Karnataka BJP leader R Ashoka on Thursday alleged that the Congress government's move to extend the "Bengaluru" brand to neighbouring districts was aimed at benefiting the real estate lobby, while neglecting the city's worsening law and order situation and civic infrastructure.

In a statement posted on X, Ashoka, who is also Karnataka Assembly LoP, claimed the Siddaramaiah government was attaching the "Bengaluru" tag to surrounding districts primarily to inflate land prices and favour real estate interests.
