Paris, June 2 -- Top seed Aryna Sabalenka of Belarus defeated Japan's Naomi Osaka to reach the women's singles quarterfinals at the French Open, while three Italians advanced to the men's singles last eight.
Sabalenka, a four-time Grand Slam champion, moved closer to a first Roland Garros title with a 7-5, 6-3 fourth-round win over Osaka on Monday.
The world No. 1 is the only top-six women's seed left in the draw.
"I'm not really overthinking. Anything can happen. That's tennis. That's sport," said Sabalenka.
