Itanagar, July 25 -- In a major crackdown on narcotics trafficking, the Bhalukpong Police in Arunachal Pradesh's West Kameng district has seized 155.105 kgs of suspected cannabis worth about Rs 78 lakh from a car, police said on Saturday.
According to police, the operation was carried out on Friday.
When the car attempted to evade checking at the Inner Line Permit (ILP) Check Gate by turning back towards Bomdila, police pursued the vehicle, during which one of the occupants fled on foot towards the SSB Colony.
The abandoned vehicle was later located near Kameng Inn Hotel in Upper Bhalukpong. After obtaining the required authorization, a police team conducted a search in the presence of independent witnesses and recovered 31 plastic bags ...
