Itanagar, April 18 -- Senior BJP leader and Deputy Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh, Chowna Mein, on Saturday termed the non-passage of the Constitution Amendment Bill, aimed at implementing the Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam, in the Lok Sabha as a "deeply disappointing moment" for Indian democracy.
The Constitution (131st Amendment) Bill, aimed to implement 33 per cent reservation for women in the Lok Sabha and State Assemblies, on Friday failed to get the two-third majority in the Lower House, with 298 MPs voting in its favour and 230 voting against.
