Itanagar, Aug. 23 -- An active cadre of the NSCN (IM) was apprehended during a joint operation by the Assam Rifles and Arunachal Pradesh Police in Tirap district today.
Acting on specific intelligence inputs, the security forces conducted the operation in the general area of New Paniduria, leading to the apprehension of Wangchan Wangsu, 31, who was identified as a self-styled Private of the NSCN (IM).
According to security sources, the operation resulted in the recovery of one pistol, one magazine and five live rounds of .32 mm ammunition from his possession.
The security forces also recovered Rs 5,450 in cash, three Aadhaar cards belonging to different individuals, one Voter ID card, a list of phone numbers and a torchlight with charger...
