Itanagar, Oct. 29 -- In a major boost to peace and stability efforts in Arunachal Pradesh's Tirap district, an active cadre of a Naga insurgent group, identified as Self-Styled (SS) Lieutenant Nyamphua Hakhun (42) of Dadam village, surrendered before the Tirap Police and the 44 Assam Rifles at Khonsa on Tuesday, police said on Wednesday.
The surrender marks another success in the sustained efforts of the Tirap Police and Assam Rifles to encourage misguided youths to return to the mainstream and contribute to lasting peace and development in the region.
