Itanagar, July 17 -- In a significant boost to counter-insurgency efforts in souther Arunachal Pradesh's Tirap district, an NSCN (R) cadre voluntarily surrendered before the Tirap Police, 44 Assam Rifles and 36 Battalion CRPF at the Office of the Superintendent of Police in Khonsa on Friday.
The surrendered cadre has been identified as self-styled (SS) lieutenant colonel Penngam Konyak (42), a resident of Nyasa village in Nagaland's Mon district.
