Itanagar, June 25 -- Police in Arunachal Pradesh's Lower Siang district uncovered an alleged prostitution racket operating from Bokchum Resort in Likabali and rescued seven women during a surprise raid, police said on Thursday.
The operation on Wednesday was carried out by a joint team of Lower Siang Police, including women police personnel, along with an Executive Magistrate, following credible intelligence received from multiple sources, including the Arunachal Pradesh Women Welfare Society (APWWS), Lower Siang District Unit, regarding alleged pimping and prostitution activities at the resort.
During the raid, seven women, reportedly hailing from Nagaland and Assam, were rescued from the premises.
