Itanagar, Aug. 8 -- Arunachal Pradesh Governor Lt Gen (Retd) KT Parnaik today reviewed the law and order situation in the state with Director General of Police (DGP) Dr SD Singh Jamwal and called for strengthening security preparedness and accelerating border fencing in the Tirap-Changlang-Longding region to check incidents of extortion and kidnapping.
The review meeting was held at Lok Bhavan here and covered the prevailing security environment, crime prevention, public safety, disaster preparedness and the overall readiness of the State Police to respond to emerging challenges.
The Governor stressed that a secure environment was essential for sustained socio-economic development and for realising the vision of a 'Viksit Arunachal'.
