Itanagar, June 24 -- In a major crackdown on drug trafficking, Naharlagun Police arrested an alleged drug peddler and recovered suspected heroin during a targeted operation conducted in D-Sector on Tuesday, a senior officer said on Wednesday.
Naharlagun Superintendent of Police Dr Nyelam Nega said that acting on specific intelligence inputs regarding narcotics-related activities, a police team from Naharlagun Police Station carried out the operation under the supervision of an executive magistrate. The team was led by SI K Tada and SI V Linggi, assisted by other police personnel.
During the operation, police apprehended Sonny Taba (21), a resident of D-Sector, Naharlagun. A search of the accused reportedly led to the recovery of 19 vials ...
