Itanagar, May 28 -- Normal life was disrupted across the Itanagar Capital Region (ICR) on Thursday following a 24-hour bandh called by the Arunachal Pradesh Indigenous Youth Organisation (APIYO) over the issue of alleged illegal mosques in the capital region.

Markets, shops, commercial establishments, banks, post offices and educational institutions remained closed during the bandh, while public and private transport services largely stayed off the roads. However, some small vehicles and two-wheelers were seen plying in some parts of the capital region.

Security arrangements remained in place across the capital region, and no untoward incidents were reported during the bandh.
