Itanagar, March 9 -- The Arunachal Pradesh Assembly was told that a total of 165 underground (UG) cadres surrendered in the insurgency-affected Tirap-Changlang-Longding (TCL) region of the State between 2020 and 2025.
This information was given by Home Minister Mama Natung in a written reply on Monday.
The TCL region-comprising Tirap, Changlang and Longding districts-has long witnessed insurgent activities linked mainly to factions of the National Socialist Council of Nagaland and other underground groups operating along the Indo-Myanmar border.
As per the year-wise data presented in the Assembly, Longding recorded the highest number of surrenders with 77, followed by Tirap (47) and Changlang (41).
