Nahan, May 22 -- Lance Naik (Gunner) Mukesh Kumar (27) of Paonta Sahib, Sirmaur district, Himachal Pradesh, has died of electrocution. News of the soldier's death has sent shockwaves throughout the area.
According to reports, Mukesh Kumar was posted with the Indian Army's 15th Field Artillery Regiment and was on a 30-day leave in his native village. On Thursday, while working in the fields in his native village, Toka Nagla, Jamnivala, he came in contact with a high-voltage wire.
