New Delhi, July 31 -- Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Dhiraj Seth on Friday launched the indigenously developed Xtreme Weather Grade (XWG) Diesel, a specialised fuel designed to ensure reliable operation of military vehicles in extreme cold, marking a major step towards enhancing operational readiness and promoting self-reliance in defence technology.

Developed jointly by the Indian Army and Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs), the specialised diesel is capable of functioning at temperatures as low as minus 42 degrees Celsius, ensuring uninterrupted mobility of combat and logistics vehicles deployed in high-altitude and snow-bound regions.
