Imphal, Aug. 2 -- Security forces and Manipur Police carried out a series of successful operations across the state over the past two days, recovering a large quantity of arms, ammunition and explosives, arresting active insurgent cadres, and seizing narcotics and illicit liquor, police on Sunday said.
In a major recovery operation on August 1, security forces recovered a sizable cache of weapons from the forest area between Border Pillar 72 and 73 under Moreh Police Station in Tengnoupal district.
The haul included one 9mm pistol, one double barrel gun, six radio sets, two hand grenades, and six IEDs, which were destroyed in situ.
