Buenos Aires, Aug. 25 -- Mauro Mendez and Santiago Lopez scored first-half goals as Tigre secured a 2-1 home win over Central Cordoba in Argentina's Clausura tournament.
Mendez and Lopez struck in the first 30 minutes before Michael Santos converted a 58th-minute penalty for the visitors on Monday.
Tigre survived to clinch its third win of the season and condemn Central Cordoba to its fourth loss.
Tigre is now third in Zone B with 11 points from six games while Central Cordoba is 14th in the 15-team Zone A standings with six points so far, according to Xinhua.
