Warsaw, Sept. 1 -- Argentina's men's volleyball team sealed its first title at the Hubert Wagner Memorial tournament, defeating host nation Poland 3-1 (25-20, 21-25, 25-19, 26-24) in the final round in Krakow.
Marcelo Mendez's men had put themselves just one step away from winning the trophy after having beaten Brazil and Serbia without dropping a set on Sunday evening.
Argentina began Sunday's match with confidence, establishing an early lead in the opening set. A decisive spike from Luciano Palonsky secured the first set 25-20.
Led by Wilfredo Leon, who contributed six points including two aces, Poland responded in the second set and leveled the match at one set apiece.
