Chennai, June 4 -- A day after clinching the deal with the ruling TVK, All India Professionals' Congress Chairperson Praveen Chakravarthy was on Thursday night announced as the party's candidate for the lone Rajya Sabha seat for the June 18 bye-election from the Tamil Nadu Assembly.
Praveen Charavarthy, who has made moves for a tie up with the Vijay's party in the run up to the Assembly elections and was the architect in Congress finally aligning with it in post-poll realignment, as expected and reported by UNI was nominated as the candidate and he was all set to be declared elected unopposed.
AICC General Secretary K C Venugopal announced the RS candidates for seven seats, including Tamil Nadu and Karnataka, in a late night statement.
