Baghdad, June 28 -- Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi met Iraqi Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi in Baghdad on Sunday during an official visit focused on strengthening bilateral ties and discussing regional security developments.

The visit comes after Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding was signed between Iran and the US.

According to a statement from the Iraqi prime minister's office, the two leaders reviewed ways to enhance cooperation between the neighbouring countries and discussed regional initiatives aimed at promoting security and stability, IRNA reported.
