Dimapur, July 15 -- Assam Rifles today paid tributes to Havildar Md Iqbal at its Training Centre and School at 3rd Mile in Dimapur. He was martyred in an IED blast near Sukhovi in Chumoukedima district on Monday.
Leading the wreath-laying ceremony, Assam Rifles DG Lt Gen Vikash Lakhera paid floral tribute to the fallen soldier.
Four other Assam Rifles soldiers who suffered injuries in the incident are undergoing treatment at a hospital in Chumoukedima. Their condition is stated to be stable.
Lakhera said the mortal remains of the martyred soldier will be taken to his native village in J&K. He said the act is against humanity and that the army and Assam Rifles will do "what is to be done". Lakhera urged people not to lose the hard-earned ...
