Thiruvananthapuram, Sept. 14 -- Apple's entry into the foldable smartphone market has triggered an unusually sharp social media confrontation with Samsung, turning the launch of its first foldable iPhone into a highly visible battle over technological leadership, market timing and brand influence.

According to market analyst V S Syamlal, Samsung launched an aggressive trolling campaign even before Apple's launch event had concluded, questioning the novelty of the iPhone Duo and reminding consumers that it had already spent years developing and refining foldable smartphones.
