Vijayawada, Nov. 25 -- The Andhra Pradesh government will implement a Rs 40,000 crore plan to develop horticulture in the state.

Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu held a meeting with the officials in the Secretariat at Amaravati, near here, on Tuesday and reviewed the implementation of Purvodaya scheme and development of horticulture sector.

The Chief Minister pointed out that 18 varieties of horticulture crops are raised in Rayalaseema region and Prakasam district. He emphasized the need of enhancing the horticulture cultivation in the state by providing more facilities to the farmers. He also stressed the need for utilizing the Purnodaya scheme funds.
