Kakinada, July 11 -- Andhra Pradesh Kisan Congress chairman Kamana Prabhakara Rao on Saturday demanded that the State government restore the previous system of urea distribution, alleging that the newly introduced app-based mechanism has made it difficult for farmers to access fertilisers.
Addressing a press conference here, Prabhakara Rao said a majority of farmers were unable to use the app as many were either not digitally literate or did not own smartphones.
He claimed that most farmers use basic mobile phones without internet or WhatsApp facilities, making the app-based distribution system impractical.
