Vijayawada, Oct. 12 -- The Andhra Pradesh government finalized the reservations for Mayor and municipal chairperson Posts for the ensuing local body polls.
The Municipal Administration and Urban Development Department Principal Secretary Suresh Kumar issued the notification on Monday through G.O. No. 252. Out of the total 17 mayor posts, 5 were reserved for BCs, 2 reserved for SCs, 1 for SC, 5 for general women and 4 mayor posts were unreserved.
Under the allocation, five corporations go to Backward Classes (BCs), two to Scheduled Castes (SCs) and one to a Scheduled Tribe (ST). Another five were reserved for women in the general category, and four remain unreserved.
