Vijayawada, Sept. 13 -- The Government of Andhra Pradesh has released Rs two crore to disburse money to the weavers from whom the APCO purchased clothes.
Minister for Handlooms and Textile S Savitha said here today that while undertaking programmes for the development of the handloom sector and the welfare of weavers in the State, the Naidu headed coalition government has decided to pay dues through the APCO.
The Minister further stated that the APCO purchased fabrics from the 84 handloom societies acrossthe State and the APCO sells the fabrics purchased from weavers through showrooms and e-commerce. Dues are to be paid for the clothes purchased from weavers, she informed.
