Vijayawada, April 17 -- Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has directed officials of the endowments department to complete the construction of 5,000 temples across the state within the next two years using Srivani funds, and told them to set up a state-level committee to monitor and oversee the construction process.
The Chief Minister held a meeting with the officials concerned at the secretariat on Friday and reviewed development of spiritual tourism and construction of new temples.
Officials were told to prepare a temple town development plan to ensure holistic development of areas surrounding major temples and to promote spiritual tourism and stressed the need to improve accommodation facilities.
