Vijayawada, July 15 -- Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has emphasized the need for interlining rivers across the country stating that it can transform the country's future.

"On the lines of Golden Quadrilateral highway, the nationwide river-interlinking programme should be implemented which will change the future of the country," Nadiu said while participating in the Jala Harathi programme here on Wednesday.

The Jala Harati programme was conducted at Ibrahimpatnam, near here, on the occasion of the Godavari water, being pumped from the Pattiseema Lift scheme, merging into the river Krishna, upstream Prakasam barrage. The Chief Minister, Ministers, officials and a large number of people took part in the Jala Harathi.
