Vijayawada, March 16 -- Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has said that the true tribute to freedom fighter Potti Sriramulu, who made the supreme sacrifice for a separate State for Telugu people, is development of the State.

The Chief Minister unveiled the 58 feet bronze statue of Potti Sriramulu at Sakhamuru in the capital city Amaravati on Monday. Potti Sriramulu died after 58 days fast demanding a separate state for Telugu people in 1952.

Addressing a public meeting on the occasion, the Chief Minister stated that a true tribute to Amarajeevi Potti Sriramulu is achieving progress in all sectors. He named the statue as 'Statue of Sacrifice' as it represents the unparalleled sacrifice.
