Vijayawada, Oct. 25 -- The bus, which caught fire in Kurnool district, leading to 19 passengers being charred alive, violated traffic rules 16 times in Telangana State and penalties of Rs 23,120 were imposed by the authorities.
Officials here said the ill-fated Kaveri Travels bus violated traffic rules 16 times between January 27, 2024 and October 9, 2025 in Telangana. The bus entered the 'No Entry Zone' nine times. Penalties were imposed on the bus for driving at high speed and reckless and dangerous driving. The bus was issued 16 challans and imposed a fine of Rs 23,120 for violating traffic rules multiple times.
