Vijayawada, Feb. 18 -- Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly on Wednesday unanimously passed the AP State Panchayat Raj amendment bill 2026. The Bill was introduced in the House by Tourism Minister Kandula Durgesh on behalf of Deputy Chief Minister and Minister for Panchayat Raj, Rural Development K Pawan Kalyan.
Members across party lines welcomed the Bill and extended their support, leading to its unanimous approval.
The Amendment Bill is expected to further strengthen the Panchayat Raj system by enhancing transparency, accountability and administrative efficiency in rural governance across the state. The Bill envisages to bring a uniform system for voter enrolment across local bodies in the state.
