Vijayawada, Oct. 27 -- The YSRCP today demanded that the government fill 60 post-graduate seats, allocated to the five new medical colleges, through the convener quota system.
"This is the only way to safeguard these government colleges from the threat of privatisation, ensuring that they remain public assets for meritorious candidates and the broader society," YSRCP's Doctor Cell Chairman Dr Ambati Naga Radhakrishna Yadav asserted in a statement here.
The five colleges were established during the tenure of the YSRCP government.
He noted that the YSRCP government initiated an unprecedented expansion in medical education and public healthcare between 2019 and 2024, sanctioning 17 new government medical colleges.
