Vijayawada, Aug. 6 -- Keeping in view the water requirement of Rayalaseema region, the Andhra Pradesh government has decided to release water from the Srisailam project.

"13 TMC of water will be released to fill the reservoirs in the limits of Handri Neeva project and 10 TMC of water will be released to fill reservoirs in the PothireddyPadu project. AP has 63 percent share in the Krishna river water and the government is giving priority to mitigate drinking water scarcity with the water," Water Resources Development Minister Nimmala Ramanaidu announced.

Minister Nimmala Ramanaidu held a meeting with the officials here on Wednesday and reviewed the water resources available in various projects.
